Willard Lindbo, age 83, of Sweet Home passed away Tuesday. He was born in Douglas, North Dakota to Thomas and Mary (Carlson) Lindbo.

He lived in Goldendale and Kelso, Washingto and Siletz and Sweet Home, Oregon. Willard served in the U.S. Army from May 1944 to June 1946 and received a Purple Heart. He worked as a heavy equipment operator.

Willard loved golf, horse and dog races, and watching basketball.

He is survived by daughters, Shari Bain and Sandy Lester of Sweet Home, Linda Red of Brownsville, and Chrissy Edwards of Longview, Washington; son, John Lindbo of Bend, Oregon; brother, Myron “Pete” Lindbo of Salt Lake City, Utah; sisters, Ruby and Cola of North Dakota; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Lindbo, in 2004.

Memorial contributions can be made in his name to Evergreen Hospice.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 27, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
