Wayne Richard Norquist, 78, of Sweet Home passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born on September 28, 1946, to Harold and Gladys (Johnson) Norquist in Roseau, Minnesota.

His family moved to Sweet Home in 1963. Wayne was a hard working man all his life, sometimes having two jobs at a time. He was a union millwright for 37 years.

Wayne’s favorite time of the year was in the fall. He loved taking his grandchildren elk and deer hunting. He had made so many wonderful friends along the way.

He is survived by his wife of 55 wonderful years, Karen (Ropp) Norquist; son Arlynn Norquist and daughter in law Nichole, daughter Shelly Norquist; three grandchildren: Colton, Tiffani, Daniel; six great grandchildren: Mercedeez, Lexus, Treygan and triplets Kaylee, Carson and Paige. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Gladys, and brother Gary.

A funeral service will be 1 pm Wednesday, April 2nd at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Private family burial at Gilliland Cemetery. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com.
