Viewing will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lebanon (1955 S. 5th Street, Lebanon, Oregon). Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Private graveside service will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, in care of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel, to help defray funeral costs.

Walter Stanley Reck, 57, of Lebanon passed away Saturday at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.

Walter was born at Lebanon Community Hospital to Stanley and Patsy (Saily) Reck.

He attended schools in Sweet Home and Brownsville, Oregon. Walter loved fishing, hunting, and gardening.

He spent many years as an iron worker in various states, mainly in the Northwest. He built bridges, banks, buildings, mini malls, hospitals, and roads.

Walter is survived by: his wife, Cheri of Sweet Home; sons, Jeremy Ferebee of Lebanon and Jason Lee Ingram of Dallas; daughter, Tasha Edwards-Martinez of Portland; mother, Patsy (Saily-Reck) Brown of Lebanon; sisters, Melinda (Reck) Johnson of Lebanon and Lucille (Reck) Oeder of Albany; seven grandchildren; aunts, Lorraine Reck of Beaver Creek and Helen Ewan of Jefferson; nephews, Eino and Shawn Pruitt of Sweet Home, Tobby Pruitt of Albany, and Jacob Oeder of Albany; and niece, Krystae Oeder of Albany.

He was preceded in death by: his brother, George Eino in 1952; his grandparents, Dortha Saily in 1969 and Eino Saily in 1979; his father, Stan in 1989; and his stepfather, Buryl Brown in 2007.
