Walter Riley Wiles, age 83, of Sweet Home passed away peacefully at his home Monday. He was born in Bokoshe, Oklahoma to Johnny Payton and Pearl Anna Wiles. He came to Sweet Home from Panama, Oklahoma in 1949.

Walter married Mayco Clara Martin June 11, 1949 in Vanburen, Arkansas. He worked for 39 years at the Santiam Willamette Industries mill as a Lumber Grader. He always worked hard at other various jobs. Walter was a veteran of Foreign Wars.

Walter loved hunting, camping, fishing, long family drives hot dog roasts. He loved NASCAR racing and was a Ford man. He rode his Honda four-wheeler hunting and around his place. He loved the grandkids and great grandkids.

Walter is survived by his wife, Mayco of Sweet Home; sons, John of Sweet Home, Ron of Alaska, Ralph of Brookings, and Jerry of Sweet Home; sisters, Mary Martin of Panama, Oklahoma, and Dorothy Ray of Shady Point, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
