Victoria “Vickie” Tenbusch, 70 of Sweet Home passed away Monday after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Bakersfield, California and adopted by Jack and Leah M. (Sommer) Spitzmesser when she was five along with her brother and sister Roxanne and Johnny.

She moved with her family to Odel around 1957. She finally settled in the Sweet Home area in 1971.

Victoria worked at the Stayton Cannery but left there to become a CNA. She went to work at Avamere Rehabilitation Center. In 2013 she left Avamere and became an In-Home Care Aid until her retirement at age 65. She grew up in the Methodist Church and was a proud member of TOPS.

She loved camping, fishing, knitting, crocheting, reading and being out in the wilderness. The most important thing to her was spending time with family and friends.

Victoria is survived by her husband of 48 years Kenneth Tenbusch; son Michael Tenbusch both of Sweet Home; daughter Katherine Cranston of Williamsburg, Virginia; grandchildren: Xev and Kyra Tenbusch of Stayton, Sharon and Ashley Cranston of Williamsburg, Virginia; sisters: Roxanne Spitzmesser of Portland, Dawn (Denney) DeWalt, Susan (Ron) Stephenson all of California, Jeanne (Charlie) Elliott of Kansas; brother Troy Elliott of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack Spitzmesser in 2018, Leah Spitzmesser in (2016); brother Johnny Spitzmesser.
