Verna “Susie” Kleiven, 85, formerly of Sweet Home passed away Tuesday in Coos Bay. She was born in Myrtle Point to Ernest and Violet Ann (Niemi) Enyart.

Susie lived, worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses and raised her family in Sweet Home for 60 years. She moved to North Bend in 2010 to be near the beach and her sister. She loved gardening, painting, being out in the woods and on the beach.

Susie is survived by her children: Walter Kleiven, Suzetta Wilson, Danny Kleiven, Alan Kleiven and Kathy Frietag; sister, Luella Torrey; niece Shirley Waldo (who helped care for Susie for the last several years); 13 grandchildren; several great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Kleiven and son Darin E. Kleiven.
