Travis Dale Bean, 79, of Springfield, Oregon passed away Monday, July 31. He was born in Valliant, Oklahoma to Hardey Lee and Iva Irene (McKay) Bean. He grew up with his seven siblings in and around the southern states.

He moved to Sweet Home, Oregon in 1956 where he met and married Elizabeth Nye on August 31, 1957. They settled in the Eugene/Springfield area in 1958 and raised their two children, Curtis and Carolyn. In addition to two children, Travis was blessed with five grandchildren and many great grandchildren, and he was proud of each and every one.

Travis spent 30 years as a millworker with Giustina, first, and, later, Weyerhaeuser. He was of Protestant faith and active with the Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

He enjoyed camping, off-road motorcycling, and spending time with friends and family. His hobbies included making wooden toys for his grandchildren and working on electric toy train sets.

Travis is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son Curtis and his wife, Judy; daughter Carolyn and her husband, Wayne; and brother Paul; as well as his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Iva Irene and Hardey Lee Bean; brothers Cliff, Jimmy, Don, and Tom; and sisters Marlene and Iva Lee.
