Tommy Neal Marvin, 69, of Sweet Home died Wednesday in Corvallis. He was born March 2, 1941 in Crandon, Wisconsin to Lyle and Sylvia Mae (Stevensen) Marvin.

Tommy was inducted into the United States Marine Corps in 1963 during the Vietnam War. He was later honorably discharged in 1969.

Tommy worked as a log truck driver and in manufacturing during his lifetime. He moved to Sweet Home in 1987 where attended St. Helen’s Catholic Church.

Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He was quite the craftsman with wood. He enjoyed spending time with family.

Tommy is survived by: his wife, Marie Marvin; children, Cheryl Carr of Argyle, Texas, Mark Marvin of Brownsville, Seth Torgerson of Sweet Home, and Chante Killian of Albany; and grandchildren, Laura and Shahaley Carr, Madeline and Lily Marvin, Brandon and Rylee Gable, and Ella Killian. He was preceded in death by his son, Todd Marvin in 1976 and siblings, Mary Jean Marvin and Jimmy Marvin.
