Viewing will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 16, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 17, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Final burial with military honors will follow at Gilliland Cemetery.

Sylvester Anton Tenbusch, 87, of Sweet Home passed away Thursday. He was born in Wessington, South Dakota to Charles and Elizabeth (Wuestewald) Tenbusch.

He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1946.

Sylvester moved to Fall City, Oregon in 1947. He married Violet Foster on September 8, 1945 in Liverpool England.

He worked as a logger, a millworker, and as a commercial fisherman on the Oregon Coast for many years. He also cut fire wood and planted trees. He was a Jack of All Trades.

Sylvester loved hunting, fishing, camping, playing cards and family get-togethers.

He is survived by: his children, Joe, Ken, John, Richard Tenbusch and Katrina Marcks of Sweet Home, Bob Tenbusch of Texas, Steve Tenbusch of Nebraska, Jeff and Lonnie Tenbusch of Lebanon, and Violet Green of California; more than 28 grandchildre and 30 great grandchildren; a brother; and three sisters.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Violet, in 1991; Baby Boy Green in 1991; and Christopher Parker in 2010.
