Sharon Gayle Malone
August 2, 1961 – May 14, 2025
The daughter of Robert Dale and Opal Glynn (Stephens) Kimberlin, Sharon Gayle was born August 2nd, 1961, in Wagoner, OK. In the wee hours of the morning, in Sweet Home, OR, on May 14th, 2025, she ran into the arms of her Saviour, after a short bout with lung cancer.
Sharon grew up mostly in Oklahoma, going to school in Antlers, OK, but spending 1 or 2 years of school in Temple, TX.
On a trip to Disneyland, her life changed forever. She went there with a friend and the friend’s children that day. The friend’s cousin, who lived in California, met them there. It was love at first sight. The cousin moved to Oregon for Sharon. She married her best friend, Chris Malone, in October of 2000. They lived, they loved, they laughed. They were partners and would thrift shop, do yard work, and home improvement together. Chris would build things for the soapbox derbies. Sharon would help build and paint. They were a team and everything a marriage is supposed to be. They have a wonderful, whole hearted love for each other. They were each other’s world.
Sharon loved God. She was a true Christian woman, living the word of the Lord. When asked about being sick and how she felt, she replied, “I’m ready to see Jesus.” She was ready. She wasn’t scared. She knew she was Going Home. Her faith took her to the end of her days on this earth.
Sharon was such a people person. She loved planning birthday and Christmas parties. She loved themed parties, which always meant costumes. She would plan her parties at least three months in advance. This would mean thrift shopping for her and Chris, or Amazon. If not those two, Chris would have to build it. She loved helping at church, and just doing things that benefitted others. Sharon loved life! Sharon lived life!
In the end, Sharon had wanted to be taken care of by Visiting Angels. She had her own special angel in Chris. He took a leave from work to take care of his beloved, because he didn’t want strangers taking care of her. He wanted someone who truly loved her to be there. She had a few more angels that helped Chris along the way in Adam and Jamie Byrd and Joseph Morgan. She was surrounded by so much love.
Sharon was preceded in death by her daddy and mama; brother, Stephen Dale Kimberlin; maternal grandmother, Mary Ruth (Pratt) Stephens; and paternal grandparents, Robert Dewey and Willie Lee (Barnard) Kimberlin.
Those she loves and knows will carry on in honor of her memory are her husband, Chris, of Sweet Home, OR; a cousin, Melissa Taylor, of Sasakwa, OK; and a great host of cousins, family, and friends.
If you truly love someone, leave a note or a video that your significant other can find to read or watch. Chris was so thankful to find a note Sharon had written to him. He was able to find some videos so he could hear her voice again. It helps with the grief.
