Sharon D. Lane, 67, passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born in Eugene, Oregon to Everett and Frances (Bryan) Parrish.

Sharon spent her childhood growing up in Terrebonne and Springfield, Oregon. She graduated from Newport High School, and then attended University of Oregon until she married in 1963. Upon marriage, she resided in Marcola, and then lived in Sweet Home in 1972 until her passing.

Sharon was an active member in Highway 20 Church of Christ, and a member of P.E.O. She was a Certified Master Gardener. Sharon worked for many years with the Sweet Home School District.

She was very active in family genealogy. Sharon discovered three branches of family that came to Oregon on the Oregon Trail. She loved collecting antiques and going to garage sales. Sharon enjoyed gardening and growing flowers and vegetables. She had several hobbies: painting landscapes, reading history and non-fiction, decorating and arranging flowers and traveling in the motor home with her husband Ken to a number of US states. Sharon loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to their sporting events and activities, and cooking for her friends and family.

She is survived by: her husband, Ken Lane of Sweet Home; children, Leslie Bradner (and husband, John) of Albany, Russell Lane of Lyons, and Stephanie Meldrum (and husband, Chris) of Portland; brother, Randy Parrish of Redmond; grandchildren, Nicole Lane, Mitchell Bradner, Kellie Weld, Megan Lane, Allison Bradner, Kathleen Meldrum, Jacob Bradner, and Emma Meldrum.

Sharon was preceded in death by: her father, Everett Parrish; mother, Frances Bryan Parrish; and brother, Scott Parrish.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
