Ruby LaNae Harmsworth, 87, of Sweet Home passed away in Albany Thursday. She was born in Provo, Utah to John Paul and Verland Ruby (Hansen) Sundquist.

LaNae spent her early years with different relatives following her dad’s death. In 1950 she moved to Dexter where she met Marvin Harmsworth. They were married on July 12, 1952 in Stevenson, Washington.

They traveled while Marvin worked construction in Oregon. In 1963 they moved to Sweet Home and stayed. LaNae worked for the Sweet Home School district as a Kindergarten assistant for 15 years. She retired in December 1991. They then traveled in their motorhome for years going to 48 states.

LaNae enjoyed cross stitching, loved canning to share with family, and walking.

She loved her family and friends very much. Her family meant everything to her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

LaNae is survived by daughters: Connie Jahns, Sue Snook and her husband Dennis, Julie Adams and her husband Doug; six grandsons; nine great grandchildren; cousins Wilma and Rod.

She is preceded in death by her husband Marvin in 2016; and sisters: Dee and Lorna.
