Ruby E. Hopper, 92, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Thursday, November 27. She was born in Toledo to Raleigh and Veronia (Folmsbee ) Aplet.

She was raised in Toledo and moved to Sweet Home in 1953. Ruby also lived a brief period of time in Lewiston, Idaho before settling in Sweet Home. She worked at the Cooperage in Toledo during the war. She also worked in bean fields as a row boss, but spent most of her life as a homemaker.

One of Ruby’s favorite hobbies was making and sewing her quilts. She loved quilting and crocheting and enjoyed working in her yard.

Ruby is survived by: her son, Wayne Hopper, of Sweet Home; daughters, Doris Proffitt of Mountain City, Tennessee and Carol Seibert of Sweet Home; sister, Irene Huntsucker of Toledo; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and nine great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Merritt Hopper (2004); brothers, Lowell Aplet, Albert Aplet, and Leon Aplet; and two great great grandsons (both in 2013).
