Roy and his wife, Darlene, married in 1968. They were together for 46 years. They loved Sweet Home and being near family and lifelong friends. They returned to Sweet Home in 1986 and planted deep roots. Roy was a dedicated family man and community leader.

He moved his family a number of times for his job, including Junction City, Stayton, Yakima, Washington, and Wilsonville. He ended his career back in Albany. He truly cared for all of the men he worked with.
