Ronald Dewey Fogle, 90, of Sweet Home passed away Wednesday. He was born in Crawfordsville to Admiral Dewey and Cora Mae (Taplin) Fogle.

He graduated form Sweet Home Union High School in 1939. Ronald served in the United States Army for three years. He served in England during WWII.

Ronald was a Barber for eight to ten years, then worked at the post office for two years. He was the assistant chief fire marshall for the City of Sweet Home for 24 years and he volunteered at the fire department for 40 years.

Ronald taught Red Cross First Aid for many years and received a certificate for teaching more than 500 hours. Ronald was a member of the Elks Lodge for over 60 years. He served as exalted ruler of the Sweet Home Lodge from 1968 to 1969.

Ronald enjoyed gardening and hunting. He also did needlework and made 20 afghans for his grandchildren.

Ronald is survived by his daughters: Sandra Green of Sweet Home; Dianna Gardner of Washington; Karen Fisher of Lebanon; and Debra McKinney of Lebanon.

He was preceded in death by two wives; Martha Fogle and Opal Fogle.

The family appreciates all the work Dan Canavan gave as his caregiver these last few months.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 28, 2012 at Sweet Home Elks Lodge.

Sweet Home Fire Department and members of the Sweet Home Elks Lodge will be in attendance to honor Ronald for his many years of service in the local community.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
