Roy Eugene Phillips, Jr., 59, of Sweet Home passed away Monday. He was born in San Jose, California to Roy Eugene and Lois Marie (Magruder) Phillips. He lived in Milton, Vermont twelve years before moving to Sweet Home in 2005.

Roy served active duty in the United States Navy from June 1969 to December 1990, and then transferred to Fleet Reserve. After retiring from the Navy, he drove bus for Greyhound Bus Lines and Vermont Transit for 15 years. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, boating, and bowling.

Roy was the oldest living survivor of the current generation of Phillips family. He is survived by: his brothers, Jeremiah Phillips of Sweet Home and Brian Noyes of Norcross, Georgia; and sisters, Sherrie Thomas, Debbie Odell, and Cathy Buckley of Yakima, Washington and Denise Walker of Snohomish, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents.
