Dean LeClerc, 83, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Thursday, January 22. He was born in Reliance, South Dakota; the son of Harry and Selma (Erickson) LeClerc. The family moved to Junction City, Oregon in the 1940s.

Dean married Betty Jane Gunson of Junction City in 1952. He served in the army during the Korean War; from 1952 to 1954. He received a Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, a National Defense Service Medal, and a United Nations Service Medal.

Dean worked as a logger, cowboy, trapper, and jitney driver. Prior to retirement, he worked for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife from 1978 to 1993.

Dean is survived by: his wife, Betty LeClerc, of Lebanon, OR; sons Thomas LeClerc of Valley Ford, WA, Robert LeClerc of Mojave, CA, David LeClerc of Portland, OR, and Jeff LeClerc of Independence, OR; and daughter Julie Olson of Battle Ground, WA, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Twyla Keen of Harrisburg, OR, and was preceded in death by brother Richard LeClerc.
