Paul Jesse Gilliland, 76, of Lowell passed away Sunday. He was born in Seattle, Washington to Harold Jesse an Lauretta Wenonah (Chapman) Gilliland.

Paul lived in Oregon all his life. He was a logger and a truck driver for timber and long haul. He loved hunting, fishing, playing cards especially cribbage. He loved his grandchildren and spending time with them.

Paul is survived by his wife, Sherry Gilliland of Lowell; children: Tammy Sumauang (Emy) of Sitka, Alaska, Tanna Bartlett (Mark) of Sitka, Alaska, Jean Benford (Jay) of Springfield, Jeff Gilliland (Syndie) of Lowell, Amanda Harter (Scott) of Sun Valley; siblings: Pat Gilliland of North Carolina, Gary Gilliland of Eugene, Robin Gilliland; grandchildren: Brody Sumauang, Jaren Sumauang, Kyler Sumauang, Santanna Sumauang, Sharla Boddy Bartlett, Curt Bartlett, Derek Bartlett, Ryan Bartlett, David Rashone, Katie Owen, Andy Benford, Deanna Gilliand, Lane Gilliland and Mayah Harter; three great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald Gilliland and sister Judy James.
