A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Lebanon Airport Office Hanger. He will be honored with a military service provided by the Sweet Home VFW Post.

Norman Fay Dugger, 85, of Sweet Home passed away October 19, 2010. He was born in Clinton, Indiana to Hobart Fay and Katie Jane (Stultz) Dugger.

He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942 at the age of seventeen. He served in eight major combats in the South Pacific on the destroyer USS KIDD.

Norman worked for Santa Fe Railroad in Southern California for many years as a brakeman and conductor. He was also a real estate broker for nearly 50 years. He lived in San Bernardino, California for many years eventually moving to Sweet Home in 1985. He opened Sweet Home Real Estate in 1986.

He loved being a private pilot and flight and instrument instructor. He also loved square dancing, spending winters in Yuma, Arizona, and meeting with “the guys” for breakfast at local restaurants.

Norman is survived by: his wife, Barbara of Sweet Home; daughter, Sherry Chinnock of Grand Terrace, California; son, Larry and his wife, Geneva, Chinnock of Redlands, California; grandchildren, Jenny and Jeremy Opp of Loma Linda, California and Amy, Katie and William Chinnock of Redlands, California; sister, Annabelle Pastore of Noble, Oklahoma; and niece, Diane and her husband, Tom, Sharp of Noble, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Hershel Dugger.
