Norman Allen Wodtli, age 56, of Sweet Home, died Thursday morning at Lebanon Community Hospital. He was born in Lebanon to Allen and Ruth (Strom) Wodtli.

He lived in Sweet Home most of his life. Norman enjoyed traveling the seas and living in the Philippines while serving in the Navy for two years. When he returned home, he followed his father’s footsteps and became a successful tree faller, spending seven years cutting Alaskan timber as well as a career of falling timber in the Sweet Home area.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon Wodtli of Sweet Home; daughters, Amanda Marie Wodtli of Halsey (she is expecting his first granddaughter in December) and Brianna Leona Wodtli and step-son, Robert Owen Miller, both of Sweet Home; and uncles, Ralph Wodtli of Bend and Wayne Wodtli of Burns.

A private burial was held for the family. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel handled services.
