Nancy May Gosser
May 14, 1951 – December 13, 2023

Nancy May Gosser, 72, passed away at her home in Sweet Home on Wednesday December 12th, 2023. Nancy was born on May 14th, 1951, in Dallas Oregon to Seth B. and Ruth Eva (Dornhecker) Dodge. She was the middle child of five siblings.

She attended school in Dallas, graduating in 1969 from Dallas High School. All throughout school her teachers loved her, and her classmates respected her. She enjoyed fun activities with her family and friends, but she also savored her own space where she could be creative and imaginative.

While attending a church camp in high school, Nancy met a boy from Sweet Home named Tom and struck up a friendship. After graduating high school Nancy and Tom reconnected while both living in Portland, Tom working at Emanuel Hospital and Nancy attending Portland Community College. Not too long after that they were married, on January 28, 1972. This coming January they would celebrate 52 years of marriage.

Later in 1972, Tom and Nancy moved to Sweet Home. Nancy began working at White’s Electronics shortly after, where she would work off and on for close to 30 years, officially retiring in 2016. In between stints at White’s, Nancy also worked at Glen’s Market in Foster. Nancy and Tom gave birth to their first child, Brian, in 1975. In 1977, Wade was born, though he tragically passed away three months later. In 1981, Julie was born, completing their family. Nancy and Tom were devoted to their family, rarely taking vacations or even nights out without including their kids. She was always loving and supportive of her children in whatever activities they were involved in or challenges they faced.

Nancy enjoyed many activities throughout her lifetime. She and Tom were avid gardeners. Their countless hours of work in the yard still provides a beautiful oasis on a warm summer day. Nancy spent many free moments creating crafts and small works of art; she loved her craft paper! Her love for the holidays was best represented in the word “Joy”, and during the Christmas season Joy was evident throughout her house in the abundance of ornaments, knickknacks, light displays and such that proclaimed Joy for all to see.

Nancy loved spending time with her family, visiting her siblings, going on
camping and hunting trips, reading, and keeping tabs on all her loved ones on Facebook.

In 2020, Nancy warmly welcomed three step grandkids into her family, Jonah, Marley, and Ayla. In the last 16 months Nancy experienced the birth of her first biological grandson, Asa, and the addition of her granddaughter, Emma. She loved being a grandma!

Nancy was a strong believer in Jesus and was actively involved in serving at church throughout her life, often teaching Sunday school to children. She was an amazing role model for all who knew her, actively demonstrating her faith through her patience, kindness, and the deep love she showed for all. Nancy
was a member of Highway 20 Church of Christ in Sweet Home at her passing.

From the earliest days of her life, until the very end, Nancy was one of the sweetest people you could hope to meet. All who knew Nancy, or even just interacted with her for a moment, expressed this truth about her. Nancy will be greatly missed by her family and friends until reunited with her again in heaven. Oh, what Joy that will be.

Nancy is survived by her husband Thomas Glenn Gosser of Sweet Home, son Brian and wife Kaitlin Gosser of Brownsville, daughter Julie Rettmann and husband Justin of Sweet Home, three step grandkids: Jonah, Marley, and Ayla, and her most recent additions, grandchildren: Asa Rettman and Emma Gosser. Nancy is also survived by her siblings, brother Ron Dodge and wife June of Dallas, sister Connie Bowers and husband Bob of Monmouth, brother John Dodge and wife Vickie of Dallas, and sister Valarie Unger and husband Phil of Dallas.
