Mina Hirschi, age 92, of Sweet Home passed away Monday morning. She was born in Sweet Home to Frank Percy and Hilda (Geil) Coulter. She lived most of her life in Sweet Home, except when she moved briefly to eastern Oregon, and then returned to live in her home in Foster.

Mina was a cook at the Sunnyside Grade School. She loved to sew and made all of her own clothes. She enjoyed quilting and made each of her children a quilt for their weddings. Mina was an avid reader of Harlequin Romances.

She is survived by her daughters, Carolee Merritt (Wilbur) of Priest River, ID and Sherral Tucker (Thomas) of Sweet Home; son, Steven Hirschi (Donna) of Junction City, OR; daughter-in-law, Jane Ann Hirschi of Quilcene, WA; nephew, Richard Hirschi (Rose) of Albany, OR; 12 granchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She had 11 brothers and sisters. One brother and all of her nine sisters are still living.

Mina was preceded in death by husband, William D. Hirschi (1997); son, Gary V. Hirschi (2009); granddaughter, Michelle Crabtree (1999); and brother, Jack Coulter (1991).
