Graveside services will be at Crawfordsville Union Cemetery on Tuesday at 10 am. A meal for family and friends will follow at the Sweet Home Mennonite Church.

Mindy Merrill, 91 year old resident of The Oaks in Lebanon went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on November 11, 2007.

She was born and received her education along with a third grade teaching certificate in Nebraska. As a young lady, she moved to California and worked for Vega Aircraft Corporation and raced cars with her brothers. She married Charles L. Merrill in 1943 in California. Her husband completed his service in the Coast Guard and they moved to Sweet Home, Oregon in 1946. In 1947 she taught at Sweet Home Grade School. For many years she worked at White’s Electronics. Then she worked for Santiam Home Health in Lebanon until she was in her seventies. Into her eighties she enjoyed taking evening adult education classes at LBCC. She moved to The Oaks in 1995.

Mindy loved the Lord and her family. Her sister remembers her as a happy person and some one to look up to. Her children remember her giving spirit, sense of humor and her loyalty and devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994 and one brother and one sister.

She is survived by two daughters: LeOra Merrill of Lebanon, Ruth Merrill of Sweet Home. Son and daughter-in-law: Allan and Mary Lou Merrill of Lebanon. Grandchildren: Tiina and Gabriel Fitzgerald of Vancouver, Wa; Lynn and Nichol Merrill of Lebanon; Lissa and Brad Keesee of Sweet Home; Sharla Merrill of Culver; Kaydi and Nate Hotrum of Lebanon. Great grandchildren: MacKenzi Fitzgerald, Ashley Keesee, Maranda Keesee, Brayden Keesee, Grace Hotrum, Colton Merrill, Hudson Fitzgerald and unborn baby Hotrum. Brother and Sisters: Andy Carpenter, Clara Morgan, Francis Hutton of California.
