Michael Jay Epperson, 60, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Saturday, June 22. He was born in Lebanon to James A. and Betty J. (Hamm) Epperson.

He lived in Hermiston, at the Oregon Coast, and in Sweet Home. He married Wanda June Huff. They were married for 35 years and loved each other very much, even through the bumps in the road.

Michael was a hard worker. He had many jobs. Whatever it took to support his family. He worked as a dishwasher and gas station attendant. He worked as a mechanic the most. In the last four years, he found the Lord and loved him deeply. He attended the Sweet Home Evangelical Church faithfully.

He loved the outdoors. If nothing else to do, he would just go for a walk. He really enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in the garden with his father. He loved playfully teasing his mother and reading the bible.

Michael is survived by his wife of 35 years, Wanda J. Epperson, of Sweet Home; children Steven and his wife, Serena, of Scio, Reta and her husband, James Holder, Jay and his wife, Shawnna, all of Falls City; parents James and Betty Epperson of Sweet Home; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister JoAnn Lovato; brothers James A. Epperson, Jr.; and eight nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen E. Epperson in 2018.
