Melvin Thomas “Tom” Shaw, 66, of Albany, Oregon passed away Friday in Salem.

Tom was born in Tillamook, Oregon, to Kenneth Shaw and Delores (Bovchart) Wigle. He was raised in Sweet Home, Oregon by his grandparents, Goldie and Charles Shaw.

Some of his favorite things to do were hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially enjoyed these things, because he was doing them with the ones he loved and cared about.

He will always be remembered as a compassionate, generous, loving man.

Tom is survived by: his wife of 47 years, Dela Shaw; daughters, Diana Johnson and Melynda Cook; son, Cory Shaw; brothers, Tony Walker, Charles Shaw, Fred Riggs, Carmen Simons, and Steve Simons; sisters, Lynda Shaw Schroth and Susan Lute; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; many brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews and other family that he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by: his son, Tommy Ray Shaw; brother, Leroy Simons; and sister, Debbie Lane.

There will be no funeral service, however the family will be holding a celebration of life after the New Year. Time and location will be announced at a later date. The family wishes to thank everyone for your kind support.
