Mel Lewis, 75, of Sweet Home, passed away Tuesday at his home. He was born in Iola, Kansas to Melvon and Grace (Baker) Lewis.

Mel retired and moved to Sweet Home in 2000 from Lancaster, California where he worked as a dental technician.

Mel is survived by: his wife of 29 years, Alice Lewis of Sweet Home; sons, Kevin and Kenny Lewis of Arizona; daughters, Kim Middleton of Arizona and Cindy and husband Ralph Calkins of Sweet Home; sister, Pearl and husband Vic Peri of Arizona; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lonnie.

In keeping with his wishes, no services are planned. Contributions in his name may be made to the Leukemia Society Oregon Chapter, 9320 SW Barbur Boulevard, Suite 140, Portland, Oregon 97219.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
