Mary Louise Irwin, 74, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019. She was born in San Bernardino, California to Albert Leslie and Lois Marie (Gregory) May.

Mary and her husband, Austin, greatly enjoyed attending church at the Sweet Home Christian Church where Mary shared in fellowship and ministry as a prayer warrior. She actively volunteered with various organizations in the communities where they resided over the years, including volunteer fire fighting and EMT and, most recently, the Gleaners.

She greatly enjoyed rock hounding, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She had the purest heart to be found in this world. She shared her heart and all she had with anyone in need. Her family and community are deeply regretting the loss of her presence with us. However, we all know she is greatly relieved of the sadness and pain she experienced since the loss of the love of her life, her husband of 54 years, Austin Wesley Irwin, Sr., who passed in December 2016. We are comforted by thoughts of her joy upon joining him in God’s hands.

Mary is survived by their five children: Austin Wesley Irwin, Jr., of Middleton, ID, Sara Louise Romans of Hermiston, Sheryl Elaine Hauth of Queen Creek, AZ, Daryl Shane Irwin of Sweet Home, and Beverly Karlene Marick of Arlington; 16 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; 4 of 11 siblings: Christine Savage of Sweet Home, Calvin May of Loraine, and Donald and Clinton May of Falls City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Wesley Irwin, Sr.; and seven siblings.

Friends and family are welcome to attend her Celebration of Life Party from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, September 14, in the Fellowship Hall at the Sweet Home Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Mary’s memory to the Sweet Home Christian Church.
