Marlene Anne Zurcher, 81, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Sunday, May 28, at her home. Marlene was born in Vernonia to Gloyd E. Adams and Marian G. (Shuttick) Adams. She grew up with her brother and sister on the family farm in Berlin, Oregon where many family memories were made. Marlene was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. She had a quick wit and a zest for life. She was loved by all, and we will have her in our hearts forever.

She was a member of Fir Lawn Lutheran Church where she enjoyed rejoicing with her friends. She looked forward to a yearly trip with all of her cousins when much love and laughter were shared. She enjoyed art, painting, drawing, ceramics, and playing the piano. She had a great love for horses while growing up on the family farm.

Marlene is survived by her children, Dennis Blackford and his wife, Shelly, of Sweet Home; Cindy (Zurcher) Brown of Salem; Marvin Zurcher of Lebanon; sister Trudy Cardwell and husband Steve of Beaverton; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gloyd E. Adams and Marian G. (Shuttick) Adams, and brother, Gloyd “Skip” Adams.
