Marjorie Adeline Van Epps, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2008. She was born April 17, 1917 in Stevens County, Washington to Grover and Olive (Fuller) Cleveland.

Marjorie lived up the Calapooia River in her early years. She also live in Blodgett, Fort Rock before living in Elk City. Marjorie managed the Elk City Store for a time. Later, she moved and settled in Crawfordsville.

Marjorie worked for Oregon State Horticulture Farm picking apples. She liked gardening and growing flowers as well as quilting and embroidery. In her earlier years, she enjoyed hunting in Central Oregon and fishing at the Oregon Coast.

She is survived by her brother, Grover Cleveland of Monroe, Oregon; sister, Louella Quigley of Yakima, Washington; grandchildren, Cindy Clark of Harrisburg, Denise Thornton of Brownsville, Larry Walker of Lebanon, Richard Walker of Halsey, Donald Walker of Sweet Home, Jackie Farris of Philomath, Russell Schweitz of Albany, and Wesley Schweitz of Redmond; twelve great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Harry VanEpps in 1998; daughters, Shirley Schweitz in 1986 and Wanda Walker in 2004; sisters, Echo and Muriel; grandchildren, Kevin Walker in 1991 and Linda Walker in 1960; and great, great granddaughter, Alexis Thornton in 2007.

A viewing for Mrs. Van Epps will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, September 1, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, at Union Cemetery in Crawfordsville, Oregon.
