Marilyn Virginia Sloan, 81, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Saturday, December 2. She was born in Longview, Washington to Everett L. and Anna B. (Wood) Taylor.

She was a Pastor’s wife. She sang in high school and church choirs. She was an assistant in a funeral home. She married Lawrence Edward Sloan on December 20, 1952. She was also an assistant at the former Sweet Home Christian School. Marilyn had a servant’s heart and lived her life to love and care for her family.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Lawrence E. “Larry” Sloan; daughters Willow and her husband, Steven Nelson, of Sweet Home, Rebecca Pearce of Sweet Home, and Ginger and her husband, Roy LaBlanc, of Lincoln City; son Scott Sloan of Sweet Home; grandchildren Krisiti and her husband, Tim, Joslynn and her husband, Isaac, Matt and his wife, Becca, Nathan, Zachary and his wife, Anna, and Alex; great-grandchildren Connor, Caiden, Luke, Didrik, Joanna, and Ella Grace; and sister Virginia Taylor Branch.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Jim and Greg; parents Everett and Anna (Wood) Taylor; and her brother, Everett.
