Mamie LaVerne Boeckel, 95, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Mamie was born on October 4, 1919 to James C. and Zelma (Casebeer) Godwin in Sweet Home. Sweet Home is where she lived all of her life.

She worked as a cook for the Sweet Home School District for many years and was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Sewing, crocheting, baking, being outdoors, and gardening were many of her hobbies. She loved flowers.

Mamie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by: her daughters, Dorothy Wright (John Ericksen) and Arlene Burks (Forest); her son, Ron Boeckel (Nancy); 9 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Mamie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Julia Davis, and her husband of 56 years, R.T. Boeckel.

Graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, August 22, at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
