Lurlyn Marciel (Preston) Eriksen, age 74, of Lebanon, passed away Friday. She was born in Lebanon, Oregon to Harold Martin and Euzell (Prince) Preston.

Lurlyn attended school in Lebanon (with the exception of 2nd grade in Mosier, Oregon), graduating from Lebanon Union High School in 1951. She attended two years at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Her employment began in 1953 with Cascade Plywood, which was purchased by U.S. Plywood in 1962, then became part of Champion International in 1967. She retired from Champion in 1985.

Lurlynn and Robert were married June 18, 1954 at her grandparent’s home in Lebanon. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Logan, Utah Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on August 4, 1955.

Lurlyn will be remembered for her many years of service within the various organizations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but particularly with the youth. Her love for music, camping, ocean beaches, and travel brought many years of joy and created happy memories for her family members. She was a friend to all and demonstrated much love and compassion toward others.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Earl Eriksen; three children, Lisa (James) Smith, of Gilbert, Arizona, Karma (LaDall) Mooso, of Hillsboro, Oregon, Marta (Peter) Steele, of Salem, Oregon; a brother, Howard Kay Preston, of Lebanon; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Dona Jean Plagmann.
