Loris David Whitton, 69, of Sweet Home passed away Monday, March 31, 2025. He was born on April 18, 1955, to Robert Bruce and Dorothy Ann (Sims) Whitton in Lebanon, Oregon.

Loris grew up in Sweet Home and graduated from Sweet Home High School. After high school he worked as a logger in areas surrounding his hometown. He had many friends in the area. He loved the outdoors and spent a great deal of time hunting, fishing and panning for gold.

Loris is survived by his siblings: Robert “Dean” Whitton, Mark Whitton and Marlene Leland; aunts: Joan Spencer, Virginia Wasson and many nieces, nephews, and cousins; Mary (Forsberg) McAdams a longtime friend and companion. He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy (Sims) Whitton, father Robert “Bob” Whitton; sister Michelle (Whitton) Fields; grandparents: Frank and Naomi Whitton, Loris and Elizabeth Sims.
