A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 7, at Cornerstone Fellowship Church,1234 Long Street, Sweet Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sweet Home Funeral Chapel to defray expenses, or to Special Olympics.

Lloyd Carl Miner, 61, of Albany, Oregon passed away Tuesday, February 24. Lloyd was born and raised in Sweet Home. He was the son of James Monroe and Dorothy Alice (Dickinson) Miner.

Lloyd graduated in 1972 from Sweet Home High School. He attended Arizona Automotive Institute, and graduated in 1975.

In 1977, Lloyd joined the United States Navy where he served a tour of duty as a mechanic. He was discharged in 1982 from the Navy Reserve.Over the years, he worked in various construction jobs, including 15 years with the family owned business.

Lloyd enjoyed camping, woodworking, cars, and car racing. He raced his own Nova at Woodburn Dragstrip.

He is survived by his siblings, David, Ethel, Dan, Mike, Dale, Ron, Ted, Sharon, Tony, and Bill.

Lloyd was an awesome and great uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Joyce; and brothers, Jimmy, Joe, and Bobby.
