Lila Roemmick, age 65, of Sweet Home, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2009 at her residence. Lila was born in Salem, Oregon to Mark Jay and Elsie Stewart. She was a graduate of Woodburn High School and attended Merritt Business College in Salem.

On September 2, 1964, she married Clinton Gibson. In 1967, they moved their family to Montana and lived in Miles City and Forsyth before settling in Roundup, Montana where they owned and operated the Miners Bar. They later divorced.

On November 13, 1982, Lila married Leroy Roemmick in Roundup, Montana. While living in Roundup she was very active in the women’s chapter of the Moose Lodge and spent many years on bowling leagues. She loved to play card and board games. She also loved music, especially Elvis, and she loved to dance.

After raising her three children in Roundup, Lila returned with her husband, Leroy, to Oregon in 1988. They lived in Albany and Lebanon before settling in Sweet Home. She worked for a few years at a liquor store until retiring due to health reasons.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy; sons, Todd Gibson, and his wife, Alesia, Shawn Gibson, and his wife, Michelle, all of Albany; daughter, Shelly Donnes, and her husband, Ed, of Sioux City, Iowa; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sister, Janice Stewart, of Modesto, California; and cousin, Marge Lunde, of Astoria, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 6, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
