Leotha May Heth, 98, of Sweet Home passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 10, 2023. She was living with her son and was placed under hospice care for several months. She acquired an acute case of shingles and placed in formal hospice care for a short time before her passing.

Lee was born in Bismark, North Dakota to Paul E. and Clara (Muecke) Wieglenda. She came to Oregon with her family when she was 12 yrs old. She graduated from Salem High School in 1943. She met Robert (Bob) Heth and they married in 1944. They both worked in Seattle for Boeing Aircraft to support the war effort. They moved to Sweet Home in 1952. Lee became involved in the community. She owned Made O Day women’s clothing store for many years. She was known for her professional seamstress talents. She was a proud member of Royal Neighbors of America. She worked on the Linn County Election Board. She was known at Roger’s Floral shop for her talents in floral arrangements. She worked through three owners. Upon retirement, she volunteered at SHEM Food Bank for many years.

Lee is survived by son Randy Heth of Sweet Home, four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Robert Heth (2014), parents Paul and Clara Weiglenda, brothers: Ernest Weiglenda, Robert Wieglenda, Harry Wieglenda, sisters: Mildred Meighen, Pearl Heth, Sadie Threlkel.
