Funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, November 10th, at the Sweet Home Evangelical Church, 1347 Long Street. Please join us for lunch following the service. Graveside service for those wishing to attend will be held following lunch at Gilliland Cemetery. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.

Joyce Birdsall, age 78, of Corvallis, passed away Saturday at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer.

Joyce was born in LaGrande, Oregon. She lived with her parents Oscar and Stella (Patterson) Andrews in Silver Lake, Oregon from 1935, until they moved to Sweet Home in 1938. Joyce attended Sweet Home High School and was very active in student government and cheerleading. She graduated in 1947.

She married her high school sweetheart, William Birdsall, in 1947. They moved to Corvallis in 1960 for five years, until they moved to Lebanon from 1965-1978. They spent time in Ivory Coast, Africa, where they helped start a sawmill. They also lived in Sun City West, Arizona and Mission Viejo, California. They moved back to Oregon in 2002, living in Sweet Home again until 2006, at which time they moved to Corvallis.

Joyce and her husband owned Northwest Moulding and owned of several local area Diet Centers. She also worked as a secretary for Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) in California.

Joyce enjoyed decorating, reading, crafts, painting, and drawing. She was an amazing cook and entertainer. Above all, she was a loving wife and mother.

Joyce is survived by her husband, William Birdsall; daughters, Connie and her husband, Ron, Kathy and her husband, Richard, Marilyn, and Janet and her husband, Jack; sister-in-law, Mollie Andrews; grandchildren, Steven (Kerin), Shane (Lisa), Jason (Sharlette), Kelley (Jason), Bryson (Paris), and Brina; great grandchildren Natalie, Dylan, Dallas, Madison, Alex, Paige, Javonnte, Malia, Avery, Isabelle, and Judah.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Francis; and grandson, Steven (2006).
