Joseph “Joe” Irvin Glasscock, 74, passed away on September 11, 2023, in Grants Pass, Oregon. Joe was born on July 7, 1949, in Sparta, Illinois and lived a life filled with adventure and connections with people from all walks of life. He embraced a “nomadic” lifestyle, cherishing the opportunity to meet and engage with many individuals along his journey.

Joe graduated from Klamath Union High School and later served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1976. He dedicated his service to his country, including two deployments to Vietnam.

After his military service, Joe pursued a career with Great Northern, later Burlington Northern Railroad, where he worked for 19 years before retiring.

Joe’s adventurous spirit and genuine love for people will be greatly missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Joe is survived by his children, Celeste Ritter (Lucas) and John Glasscock, as well as his grandchildren, Danny, Hannah, Declan, and Wyatt. Additionally, he leaves behind two great-grandchildren. Joe was a beloved brother to Larry Glasscock (Patty), John Glasscock (Penny), Sissy Sullivan (Dan), Missy White (Mike), Teresa Glasscock (Sandy), and Lisa Thomas (Terry). He also cherished his stepmother, Nancy Glasscock, and her two daughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Peggy Glasscock, and his sister, Dana Glasscock.

Joe’s memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

A service will be held for family members. Please be encouraged to have a gathering in your location.
