JoAnn Carol Kyser, 71, of Sweet Home, Oregon, finishing her work on earth, passed away on June16th at Samaritan Wiley Creek Community. She was born in Portland to Herman John and Myrtle Esther (Patrick) Zoet.

She was an active and engaged woman, always full of life and laughter. She was an active adventurer who hunted early in her life, traveled to Victoria, Canada and New York and most recently took a cruise with several friends to Alaska. She was always looking forward and was planning a new adventure that included selling and moving from her home in Redland, Oregon and setting up new roots closer to her children and grandchild.

JoAnn was a woman of faith who loved Jesus and gave much to all who were around her. She worked for years with the Awana youth program and her local church. She was an active member of the secret sister program providing encouragement to other women in her social circle. Professionally, she worked for Tektronix until it was purchased by Xerox. She was hired by Xerox where she retired after 40 years of service.

She is survived by her daughter, Serena Taylor, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters Joyce Olson of Tucson, Arizona and Judy Thomas of Oregon City; and step-daughter Stacie Voight of Sweet Home; step-granddaughter Alyssa Voight whom JoAnn loved.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her late husband, Warren D. Kyser, who passed in 2012. Warren had been in poor health for 14 years and, as a testament to JoAnn and her faithful love, she was by his side until the end.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
