Joan Lee Saunders, 93, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2026. She was born December 4, 1932 to Madeline (Bemis) and Paul Gelatt in Seattle, Washington.

Her and her husband Sandy Sr. moved to Hawaii, where they had their son Sandy Jr. They moved back to Albany and then to Lebanon where Joan’s parents lived and became home until she passed.

She enjoyed spending time outside, gardening, crafting, and taking care of her animals. Joan was a loving mother and grandmother who loved to watch her granddaughters sports.

She is survived by her son Sandy Saunders Jr.; grandchildren: Tasha (Branden) Myers, Tianna Saunders and Ryder Brooks, Talisha (Blake) Miller, Amanda Murphy, Curtis and Darell Ostlund, Danica Garcia; brother and sister in law Larry and Janette Gelatt; sister Judy Iverson; nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Sandy Saunder Sr. (2022), son Steve Ostlund (2026), daughter Sue Murphy.
