Jesse Covis Nixon, 91, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He was born in Weleetka, Oklahoma to James L. and Edna Elma (Mansfield) Nixon.

He served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1945. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Area Ribbon.

Jesse was a long-time resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, but lived in Sweet Home since 1997.

He was a retired aviation mechanic with TWA for 36 years. He was a member of Sweet Home Church of Christ.

Jesse is survived by: sons Jim and his wife Jackie Nixon of Martinez, California, Ron and his wife Kathy Nixon of Tecopa, California, and Steve and his wife Sharri Nixon of Sweet Home; daughter Karen and husband David Cutting of Beaverton; sister Polly Mabry of Oregon City; brother Charles Nixon Sr. of Green River, Wyoming; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 2009.
