On Wednesday, February 1, Jean JoAnn Trask, a beloved mother, passed away two months shy of her ninety-fourth birthday. She was born April 14, 1929 to Viola Goldie (Johnson) and Odes McKinley Wilkening in Chilhowee, Missouri. Jean and her younger twin brother Joe joined two half-siblings Helen Culbertson and John Aden Wilkening, later joined by younger siblings Donald Henry Wilkening, Gail Arlen Wilkening and Jennifer Lyn Wilkening. Odes was employed in the Corps of Engineers and the family relocated several times through her younger years, living in Missouri, Alaska and Washington State. Jean graduated from Enumclaw High School, Enumclaw, Washington, in 1947. Odes’s employment took the family to Sweet Home in 1949, where Jean took employment as a switchboard operator and bank teller. It was in Sweet Home where she met Winston “Winnie” Wilburn Trask, who became her husband of fifty-two years until his passing in 2005. Jean and Winnie raised three children, Sandy, Bruce and Deanna in a lovely home in Holley. Jean enjoyed camping, needlepoint, and was an avid gardener with a passion for growing roses.

Jean is survived by sister Jennifer (Ray) Lewallen, Salem, Oregon, children Sandy Kay (John) Van Cleave, Sweet Home, Bruce Winston Trask, Lebanon, Deanna Jean (David LeRoy) Luke, Tacoma WA, grandchildren Kevin John Van Cleave, Carissa Kay Van Cleave, Amanda Renee Robutka, Emilia Michaelle Peabody, Heather Rose “Charli” Peabody, twins Loren Paul and Quinn Winston Cannon, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings John Aden Wilkening, Helen Louise Sargent, Joe Lee Wilkening, Donald Henry Wilkening, Gail Arlen Wilkening, and husband Winston.
