James Kalebaugh, 93, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2020 at his residence in Sweet Home after a brief illness. He was born in Santa Maria, TX to Rollie and Annie (Keener) Kalebaugh.

Jim grew up on a farm in rural Cameron County, Texas. After high school he joined the Army. He received an honorable discharge on November 4, 1946.

He lived most of his life in Texas and California. He worked for many years as a certified welder in the oil field of California. In 1990 he retired from Union Oil Company and moved to Sweet Home, Oregon.

Jim was a member of Sweet Home Seventh-day Adventist Church and East Linn Ham Radio Club.

He enjoyed vegetable gardening, his wife’s flowers, bird watching, taking drives and playing his harmonica. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.

Jim is survived by his wife Karen Kalebaugh; son Mike Kalebaugh; grandsons: James and Daniel Watson; brother Raymond Kalebaugh; and sister Mary Lou Kelley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Gwen Kalebaugh; brothers: RG and Thomas Kalebaugh; and sister Ruth Bearden.

Graveside services with Military Honors and burial were held November 9, 2020 at Lewis Cemetery in Sweet Home, OR.
