A beloved husband, father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away on Friday, December 21st. Jack will be missed by those that loved him more than words could ever say.

A memorial service will be held in the near future.

Jack was blessed with a loving family. Jack was very talented and excelled at everything he tried. A musician, hunter, fisherman, marksman, bowler and mechanic; he was truly a master of many talents. Jack loved the outdoors and spent many a hour in the garden or working in the yard with his wife, and spent countless hours playing his guitar around campfires with family and friends.

Jack is survived by his wife, Brigitte Fagan, and daughters, Nicole Fagan and Jessica Fagan, of Sweet Home, Oregon; his father, Larry Fagan, of Lebanon, Oregon; his grandfather, Johnnie Fagan, of Sweet Home, Oregon; his brother, Russ Fagan, of Redmond, Oregon; his sister, Daleen McDonald, of Tigard, Oregon; his brother, Dwayne Fagan, of Lebanon, Oregon; his mother-in-law, Margret Hoft, of Arleta, California; and his sister-in-law, Monica Shinder, of Westlake Village, California.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Fagan, of Lebanon, Oregon; his grandparents, Herman and Sally Day, of Lompoc, California; his grandmother, Helen Fagan, of Sweet Home, Oregon; and his father-in-law, Hermann Hoft, of Arleta, California.

Jack was born in Brownfield, Texas and spent his early years in California before moving with his family to Oakridge, Oregon in 1971. Jack graduated from Oakridge High School in 1977. After high school, Jack worked at Sun West Mobile Homes and there he met his best friend, Kit Flowers. In 1980, Jack and Kit followed their dreams and left Oregon for Los Angeles. In California, Jack worked at Lance Campers and met the love of his life. Jack and Brigitte were married in 1987 surrounded by friends and family. After the births of Nicole and Jessica, Jack and Brigitte took their family to Oregon for a simpler life. They arrived in Sweet Home in 1996.

Jack’s proudest achievements were his daughters. Jack loved being a father and gave everything he could to his family. Nicole was his “Baby Girl” and Jessica his “Little Girl.” He recently took special pride as Nicole was accepted to Oregon State University, and of both Nicole and Jessica as he helped them both to harvest their first deer this last fall.

More than anything, Jack was a fighter and fought as hard as he could until the end. His heart and mind were willing but his body could take no more.

Donations in Jack’s name can be made to the Mario Pastega House in Corvallis, Oregon.
