Glen Edwin Kirk, 59, of Brownsville, Oregon passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in John Day where he loved to be. He was born in Lebanon to Loren Claire and Patricia Ann (Thompson) Kirk.

He loved to take care of sheep and cattle and loved the solitude he had with a horse and his dogs. He had a “green thumb” and could graft trees. Since he was a little boy, Kirk loved to fish and was very good at it. He enjoyed making Indian jewelry. He would dream of a design and make it the next day.

Glen loved Indian and all history. He loved the Lord. He is home with his grandparents that he greatly missed after they were gone. We will miss all his interesting stories and his presence.

He is survived by: his mother, Patricia Kirk of Brownsville; brothers, William (and his wife, Vicky) Kirk of Brownsville, James (and his wife, Linda) Kirk of Indian Valley, Idaho; Aunt Donna Byerley of Brownsville; Uncle David (and his wife, Kathy) Thompson of LaComb; many nieces, nephews and cousins; his little dog, Toby; and many friends.

Glen was preceded in death by his father, Loren C. Kirk, and his grandparents, Freda and George Thompson and Mabel and Claire Kirk.

Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
