George Elmer Eichner, 67, of Lebanon, Oregon passed into the arms of the Lord, Saturday, March 22, 2014 while snowmobiling in the mountains he loved. He was born in McMinnville to Goldwin and Lucille (Cooper) Eichner. George was one of six children.

At the time of his calling, he was surrounded by his snowmobile family of the Mount Jefferson Snowmobile Club and his long-time companion, Susan Lowen, of Lebanon.

George served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.

He married Linda Lehman on May 17, 1974 in Phoenix, Arizona. They moved to Cortez, Colorado in 1977, where they raised their five children: Rick, Alan, Rebecca, Brenda, and George Jr. The family moved to Oregon in 1989. George was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, and a close friend to many.

George started his career as a lineman in 1971 at Salt River Project in Phoenix, Arizona. He then worked for Empire Electric in Cortez until moving to Oregon. After moving to Oregon, he worked for Consumer Power until his retirement in 2009.

He was an active member of the Mount Jefferson Snowmobile Club since 2002. He dedicated much of his spare time to maintaining the snowmobile trails at the Ray Benson Snow Park. He enjoyed camping and riding in the mountains with his family and friends.
