Frances “Lee Ann” (Babcock) John, 68 of Salem, formerly of Sweet Home, earned her Heavenly halo on May 11, 2020. Lee Ann was born in Lebanon on June 3, 1951 to Guy & Naomi (Durr) Babcock. She graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1969.

She married her high school sweetheart, Duane John on April 12, 1969. They were married just shy of 31 years before his passing.Lee Ann then met her final life partner, Gary Adams in 2002.

Lee Ann began working early in life at her parent’s farm, The Babcock Bean Field in Pleasant Valley where she met Duane. Lee Ann held just a few jobs, Holley Market, Speedee Mart and KFIR before spending over 20 years as Front Office Manager for Richard R. Schirmer, DDS and eventually retiring from City of Sweet Home as the Public Works Secretary.

Family and friends were important to Lee Ann, who enjoyed hosting family gatherings, camping and social activities. Besides spending time with her family, Lee Ann also enjoyed garage sales, traveling and second hand shopping. She was also actively involved in the several activities within the Madrona Ridge Community.

Lee Ann is survived by her mother, Naomi Babcock of Lebanon; life partner, Gary Adams of Salem; son, Mark and wife Suzanne John of Salem; daughter, Rebecca and husband Sean Haylett of Coos Bay; her grandchildren, Kendall, William and Owen John, Nickolas and Alexander Whitmore and Hunter and Justen Keeler and 1 great grandchild, Gavin Spencer. Lee Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Duane John in 2000; her Father, Guy Babcock in 1989 and brother, Randolph “Randy” Babcock in 2014.
