Faron “Red” Young Pugh, 84, of Sweet Home, Oregon passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020. He was born in Pensacola, Florida to Henry and Gertrude (Wilson) Pugh.

He served in the United States Army from January 8, 1954 until he was Honorably Discharged on January 24,1960. While stationed in Port Townsend, Washington, he met and married Mary L. Simpson on July2, 1955.

Red moved to Sweet Home in 1961. He was employed with Willamette Industries at the Foster division and retired after 38 years.

After retirement, he and his wife, Mary, purchased a fifth-wheel and, every year, would pack up and spend the winters in Yuma, Arizona. Mary passed away on their anniversary in 2016.

He enjoyed hunting and deep sea fishing.

Red is survived by sons Randy J. Pugh of Kent, Washington and David M. Pugh of Cascadia; daughter Melissa K. Edgemon of Blaine, Washington; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary.

A private family Graveside Service will take place at Gilliland Cemetery.
