Eula Mae Sabisch, 86, of Sweet Home passed away Saturday at Twin Oaks Nursing Home. She was born in Clay City, Kansas to Lewis and Cuma (Crandal) Nicholas.
Eula traveled with her family from Kansas as a child to settle in Charleston, Oregon. After high school, she moved to Eugene, Oregon, and then moved to the Elmira and Veneta area where she lived for over 40 years.
She ran an adult foster care home for veterans out of her home for many years. Eula married Charles T. Sabisch in 1997 and moved to Sweet Home. Charlie passed away in 2010 at the age of 99.
Eula loved to sing and play instruments, like the piano and organ. She was great at cooking, baking, canning, and gardening, and she had an amazing knack for growing African Violets.
Eula is survived by: her children, Allen Rust of Rickreall and Ellie Hill of Veneta; sister, Edith Jones of Coquille; five grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Sabisch.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Lewis Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
