Esther “Mickey” McIntyre, 79, of Sweet Home passed away Sunday in Lebanon. She was born July 12, 1931 in Moorcroft, WY to Ralph E. and Gladys (Theobald) Loux. She was one of twelve children.

In 1935, the Loux family moved from Wyoming to Oregon and lived in Brownsville, Scotts Mills, and Mt. Home before finally settling in the Liberty area. Mickey attended Liberty and Sweet Home schools.

In 1947, Mickey married Chuck Smith in Sweet Home and they had three children. This marriage ended in divorce.

Mickey remarried in 1963 to Ray Freeman. They settled in Lebanon and Sweet Home and had three sons. Later, the two divorced.

Mickey worked at several area restaurants and for Key Title in Sweet Home.

In 1991, Mickey married Clair McIntyre at Sunnyside Park, adding Clair’s four children to her family. Together, they enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends. Upon retirement, Mickey and Clair divided their time between Sweet Home and a vacation home in Wellton, Arizona.

Mickey learned how to sew at a very young age and spent many hours sewing for her family and friends. Her sewing skill was expressed best in the many beautiful quilts she enjoyed making.

She was survived by: her husband, Clair McIntyre; children, Cheryl Stone (and Robert) of Paris, KY, Ray Smith (and Carolyn) of Vancouver, WA, Nyla Howell (and Keith) of Fallon, NV, Michael Freeman of Los Angeles, CA, Jeff Freeman (and Kathleen) of Tigard, OR, Bill McIntyre (and Tracy) of Las Vegas, NV, Claire Henthorne (and Sam) of Foster, OR, Mike McIntyre (and Debra) of Helena, MT, and Patrick McIntyre (and Elaine) of Sparks, NV; step-children, Ray Freeman, Ron Freeman, and Larry Freeman; siblings, Dean Loux, Gene Loux, Neoma Meng, Nyla Lott, and Don Loux; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Freeman, and siblings, Raymond, Wayne, Oroville, Ralph, Edna, and Priscilla.
